Uganda National Football Manager Arrested for Gay Sex

A Ugandan former national football manager is being held in a police station and is awaiting trial over charges of gay sex, it was revealed today (16 December).
Chris Mubiru, the former head of the country’s soccer team, was arrested Sunday morning for allegedly ‘sodomizing’ one of his team players last year.
Police spokeswoman Judith Nabakooba confirmed the former Uganda Cranes chief was arrested, but it is unknown when a trial is likely to take place.
She has also asked anyone who has been sodomized by Mubiru to come forward and present evidence to Central Police Station in Kampala.
Last year, daily tabloid Red Pepper splashed pornographic photos across their front page with the headline: ‘SMOKED OUT! Uganda Cranes boss nabbed sodomizing players – Shocking pictures inside.’
The paper printed five photos of the head of the team allegedly having anal sex with a young team player.
The captions were designed to outrage the conservative population, with one saying: ‘MASTER AT WORK: Mubiru nails the boy’s butt.’
Another said ‘END GAME: The boy struggles to stand up after the bum shattering session.’
The alleged ‘young player’ was not identified and the pictures were unable to verified.
Due to the papers selling so well, the gay pornographic Red Pepper issue was reprinted for another two weeks.
Speaking to Gay Star News, African LGBTI activist Denis Nzioka said it was ‘clearly designed to provoke a moral outrage about what is seen as a bastion of the male sportsmanship – the country’s top football team.’
It comes as a 65-year-old British ex-pat Bernard Randall is also facing trial for trafficking in obscene publications.
He claims his laptop computer was stolen after images of him in bed with another man were published in the Red Pepper.
Earlier this month, a former politician launched a campaign to drum up support for the delayed ‘Kill The Gays’ bill.
While Uganda already punishes LGBTs with life imprisonment for having gay sex, the new law would mean they would face the death penalty if they were a ‘repeat offender’.
